Speaking Words of Wisdom
As I mentioned earlier in the week, I’ve been watching this show called Being Erica on Netflix. Yes, it’s mega cheesy. Yes, it has sub-par Canadian production values. But it also has its great moments.
One of the things I enjoy about it is a character who is full of insightful quotes. I’ve been taking notes as he says the ones that really hit home for me.
Consider this your “Weekend Wisdom.” But on a Thursday. Because well, sometimes we could use some thoughtful words to get us through the week. I know I do.
There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.
– Leonard Cohen
It takes a lot of courage to grow up and be who you really are.
– e. e. cummings
Learn to be what you are, and learn to resign with good grace all that you are not.
– Henry Frederick Emile
While we are postponing, life speeds by.
– Lucius Annaeus Seneca
Whatever your past has been, you have a spotless future.
– Melanie Gustafson

ahhh I love the last one! It’s SO easy to get caught up in the guilt, setback, embarrassment, etc of the past. But for the future, none of it matters!
I LOVE these quotes, especially the e.e.cummings one and the last one. They’re beautiful. :)
Whatever your past has been, you have a spotless future. LOVE.
I love that last quote- I needed it today!
Leonard Cohen is simply fantastic.
I have recently become a little obsessed with this show as well. I immediately copied down the Henry Frederick Emile quote about resigning with grace all that you are not when I first heard it on the show. Love it. I have a stockpile of episodes to watch of the series on my DVR!
I’ve been watching it on Netflix. So happy CBC hasn’t cancelled it yet!
